Prazelenina

Calling all urban gardeners! Welcome to the green oasis known as Prazelenina. Open since 2012, Prazelenina is considered to be the first among the many community gardens now in Prague. Prazelenina has taken root in the formal industrial district of Holešovice. Locals and neighbors alike care for their vegetables and flowers which grow up side by side in heavy duty plastic sacks. Even if you don’t have a sack of your own, anyone and everyone is welcome to enjoy a cold beer (Unětické beer) or lemonade from the train wagon bar. Prazelenina is super child-friendly as well, so bring your kids along to play with the hose or play in the sandbox. For the more active at heart there is ping pong and petanque. There are also a lot of interesting events that take place from concerts to film screenings under the stars to flea markets (stay up to date through their Facebook page).

For those who would like to register, send an email to prazelenina@gmail.com. The 1m2 plot costs 1000 Kč for the season which runs from April to the end of October. This one time fee includes everything you will need to start and maintain your little garden (seeds and plants not included!). Compost bin also available!
