Matějská Pouť (St. Matthew’s Fair)

Matějská Pouť or St. Matthew’s fair is a tradition that goes back to the Middle Ages. These days it’s more of a modern affair with fair rides, cotton candy, and sausages and is held at the Výstaviště Fair Grounds located next to Stromovka Park. So come out in March and April when the fair is in full swing and ride on the ferris wheel or hop on some bumper cars or get sick on the scrambler. There’s a nominal entrance fee and rides cost anywhere from 20-100 Kč a pop. 2013 was the 50th anniversary of the fair at Výstavistě.
